Asad’s most distinguished work is Genealogies of Religion. Hard to grasp at first instance but if you manage sticking with it the best is saved for the last. Formations of the Secular is also quite famous but I have not read it as yet. Another useful take is on Suicide Bombing (you can read a review of that on my blog). Asad’s uniqueness lies in his consistency to cross the limits set by various disciplines and thus setting up the base for asking new and right questions.
Aasem – thanks for adding your comment. Kahan ghayab hain aap?
Take care and all best
Raza
I was in your street on the next day of Eid but there were too many cars inside so I chose not to knock the door unannounced. Back in my city but I’ll see you on next Eid for sure
It was interseting to listen to Prof.Asad.I too felt in my own book,Kashmir:Fractured Nativity(closed options, open possibilities),how to come out with out any range, objectively.’Why one has these feeling of rejection as we proceed’.It waswith kashmiris also.I suggest and found convincingly to work on it.The religion and culture arer entirely rtwo realms. One need not over lap it.Despite religion being a way of life could easily be seprated from culture which forma the basiss of familarity and non familarity that is nativity.Nativity should not be factured if you want society or community to progress on humanism
