I agree with the comments of Indiscribe and Rana. The main source of bigotry against Muslims in India comes from the educated middle class in India, and I also agree that this same middle class looks to the West for economic and political direction. Many so-called “educated” middle class Indian men and women (the journalists, managers/executives, engineers, doctors) are, again, highly apathetic to politics and insulated in their own version of “modernity” or more precisely, operating as functionaries of global capitalism. It is easy for them to turn into bigots because there is not even a modicum of social responsibility in the new market economy in India.
BJP in India, Taliban in Pakistan and the Republicans in the States sound like nothing more than religious/ racist bigots frothing at their mouths every time they open them. Seriously desperate fundamentalists trying to sound relevant even as they know that they have nothing to offer.

The fact is that while the West and India have a premeditated stance towards Muslims,as if they are anti-humanist,anti-secularist race,nobody bothers to questions the divine judgements of these American and Indian politicians.Varun doesnt represent the whole,or even a quarter of India when he say that muslims have scary names but he surely,does represent the grieve and anger that Indian holds against pakistan.
A mere look at Arundhati Roy and Noam Chomsky’s books and articles reveal the great secularity of the West and India.Varun ought to read it.

I think BJP is going to pay for all this non-sense. NSA for Arun is i think first time law was used properly. People like Varun should be behind the bars and not for few days but for entire life.

They are absolutely blind in their hatred, and in this, they are not even driven by any love for their own religion, for their knowledge of it is nil. They believe they are being very pious by hating Muslims.

We already knew that Varun Gandhi is slightly unbalanced. he get’s carried away in front of a crowd;he has a bit of a messianic complex, etc.
However, the current controversy will do him good politically. It positions him as a possible successor to Modi in a contest with his cousin, Rahul.
Young Indians, Muslims, Christians, Hindus or from whatever background- urban or rural- must reject Varun’s message. He is posing as a Mafia boss- a strong man- when he isn’t strong, he’s deluded.
This is dangerous.
When a cowardly little shit starts thinking he is an “Action-Man”, blood flows in the streets.
Don’t let this deeply troubled adolescent think he can get away with it.
The failures of so called Muslim ‘leaders’- whose main qualification was that they couldn’t lead anyone to the toilet let alone on to the road to progress- is scarcely to the point.
The tendency to hero worship mentally ill little shit-heads is a dangerous one. This squishy turd- Mr.Varun Gandhi- is already the victim of bad genes- his father was a rotten little sociopath- and really must be ostracised not idolized.

Just look at the Christians. They have invested all the revenue generated from their missionary services to build world class schools, colleges and hospitals. They have forced the rich Christian nations to contribute for the development of the nation. Whereas, these Muslim leaders have branded the entire community as dole eaters and vote bank. They have NEVER demanded rich Gulf countries like Saudi to invest in India for Muslim schools and hospitals in return for the millions of dollars of revenue they contribute through their annual Haj pilgrimage. Reason?. They don’t want Muslim money in Hindu land. These shameless crooks have been eating doles and filling their deep pockets in the name of Minority commission, Wakf board managers, Haj subsidies etc and in return they have completely destroyed the dignity, self respect and self reliance capability of the Muslim masses.

My conclusion is, the self styled Indian Muslim leaders and cronies hand-picked by Congress have completely ruined our identity. If i cry for my constitutional rights are jeopardised, it is purely because of the collective failure of the corrupt Indian Muslim leadership. I blame them directly and they have completely let down ordinary Muslims like me from living a peaceful life in my nation. They have crippled the entire administrative machinery and Hindu public from supporting or upholding or delivering any justice for us. Now they are trying to join the crowd and act like innocent peace loving Muslims after seeing the hard earned success of few individual Muslims. It is wrong to say that Indian government took silent revenge on Indian Muslims because of Pakistan. Pakistan is NOT responsible for the failures of Indian Muslims. The enemy is within.

The emergence of Hindutva has exposed the ugly under belly of Muslim leaders and has kicked them out of their comfort zone. Babri Masjid demolition shook the Muslim masses from their deep slumber. Gujarat 2002, rubbed the salt on their wounds. Mr.Varun Gandhi has very good reasons to make such hate speeches and i congrtaulate him for boldly breaking out of the pseudo-secular crap created by his fore fathers. We ordinary Muslim masses are secretly happy to see the uneasiness on the face of these so called Muslim leaders and he should do more in the interest of the nation but without violence or communal riots.

Mr.Varun Gandhi, peace be upon you and God bless in your noble mission to liberate Muslims from this slavery.

@ indscribe – agree with you. recently i was searching for an old song by Noor Jehan on youtube and i saw that after a few polite messages expressing thanks to the person who had uploaded the video, the debate moved to lata-noor-jehan comparison and pretty much an all out pak-india war. so you are absolutely correct about the internet being used by fringe elements which unfortunately dominates the net. but i also suspect that most of the extreme views are held not be people based in Pakistan or India but expats mainly in US and Europe…
