It was on his account and thanks to his book that i read as late as 1984 [in his book called score board which also has a life sketch on Faiz, Manto etc] that I discovered Noor Jehan. Yes, I had listened to her previously being an AM radio fan but why she was more than an artiste, I discovered thanks to Khalid Hasan's tribute to her. He completed her biograph a few years before her death and this too appeared in the print media. Thanks for posting this. The link at hamara.com is interesting. Worth a read.
