Historic Casualties take place when revolutions sweep the lands.
Literature is the first feeble plant that is attacked. The tyrant's first target is language and literature. "Crush a language to crush a people" is the cardinal principle. You incapacitate generations when you switch off a language. It takes centuries for man to dream in a different language !

It is hard to maintain composure... but i think today in 2009 Muslims must adopt English as their mother-tongue. Its the language of science and math. (Now dont tell me abt Germany and Japan - they are a different race. If one wishes to emulate Germany, Japan and China... that "characteristic" must emerge first ! There is a different race.. a different DNA strand).

Anyways... this is 2009. We know the journey from Baghdad to Baghdad via Moorish Spain and Delhi [ the litany is long ]. Question to reflect upon is : Can we salvage what little we hold today or.... Can we ? or are we doomed to utter ruin and extinction.

What must be, must be.

Janaab Rumi, bahut bahut shukriya Article post karne ka. I still remember the rainy day when I visited Mirza Sahab's haveli in Gali Qasim where you can't ask "where is Ghalib's Haveli". You must say "Mirza" Ghalib. Of course the constant noise of Vehicles and population has mercilessly taken over, a stray Kabootar can still send one back 150 yrs in the past when men stood by on a Nukkad and praised Mirza Sahab's couplets.

"Ghar me tha kya tera gam jise gaarat karta
Wo jo ham rakhte the ik hasrat e taameer, so hai"
