Is that this a paid argument or did you customize tangible your self? Both means sustain the superb high quality writing, it’s scrumptious to see a pleasant weblog like this unparalleled these days. I searched for 'ballimaran' and came across this article. I was doing my search in reference to Mirza Ghalib of course. This post gave me the information I was curious about. I was pleasantly surprised to see your location info, I also live in Lansing MI (Okemos to be precise). Hi Gautam, Thanks for posting this. I searched for ‘ballimaran’ and came across this article. Kunhiraman Mon, 16 Aug 2010 05:07:44 +0000 http://www.razarumi.com/?p=1196#comment-19595 I liked what you wrote about Mirza Ghalib. I spend some part of adolescence in Delhi, and loved exploring the chandni chowk area. Now i am returning in my old age, with some of my family, and wish to visit the poet's haveli. We are making this a Mughal period pilgrimage, and watching all the old films and TV specials, about the period. Choud you be so kind as to describe in some detail how to find Mirza Ghalib's haveli from Chandni Chowk? Perhaps in relationship to the entrance to the road with the silver merchants, which ends up at Jama Masjid? Thank you for keeping this website. Also, since you seem to love the same things as we do, can you tell where one is likely to find real qawwali? We are not there on thursday when they have it at Nizamuddin. thanks. K. Literature is the first feeble plant that is attacked. The tyrant's first target is language and literature. "Crush a language to crush a people" is the cardinal principle. You incapacitate generations when you switch off a language. It takes centuries for man to dream in a different language ! It is hard to maintain composure... but i think today in 2009 Muslims must adopt English as their mother-tongue. Its the language of science and math. (Now dont tell me abt Germany and Japan - they are a different race. If one wishes to emulate Germany, Japan and China... that "characteristic" must emerge first ! There is a different race.. a different DNA strand). Anyways... this is 2009. We know the journey from Baghdad to Baghdad via Moorish Spain and Delhi [ the litany is long ]. Question to reflect upon is : Can we salvage what little we hold today or.... Can we ? or are we doomed to utter ruin and extinction. What must be, must be. I still remember the rainy day when I visited Mirza Sahab's haveli in Gali Qasim where you can't ask "where is Ghalib's Haveli". You must say "Mirza" Ghalib. Of course the constant noise of Vehicles and population has mercilessly taken over, a stray Kabootar can still send one back 150 yrs in the past when men stood by on a Nukkad and praised Mirza Sahab's couplets.
