I can't help but notice the fact that the folks who have posted the previous two comments probably find little time to glance through a newspaper or watch news telecasts on television or, if they do, they do not have the inclination to follow cricket-related news closely and yet that does not restrain them from posting a comment here. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, folks! Just couldn't resist taking a dig... :D

BTW, the ban being suspended, making it possible for Shoaib to play some IPL matches, was a welcome reprieve for him as well as his fans. :)

Well, we are always left impressed by his bowling and watch him with great interest (and a little unease only when he's playing against India - LOL) but I never knew so much controversy had followed him in Pakinstan.
I do think the youth of the Sub continent is coming of age - wont comment if its for good or bad - let time tell that!

Shoaib Akhtar in Pakistan., and that Sardar`ji who slapped Sreekanth (is the name right ??).. etc. These are symptoms of a larger malaise. This is what happens everythingis commercialised ! Sports have lost the spirit of sportsmanship. The institution of FAMILY is collapsing in the Indian Sub-continent. India has achieved 10% growth rates (10% growth for 10% of the population, i.e.). Its a dangerous trend. Entreprenuership is good, but everything must not be commercialised. Look at "education". Fees schools / colleges are charging. Look at Sports. Look at relationships. They are all going down the gutter.

Frankly, I get really annoyed by all the "disciplinarians" trying to punish Shoaib for his transgressions, real or imagined.

Sure, he needs to be warned to stay in line, but there needs to be some restraint when taking action against him.

Where were all these disciplinarians when the maulvi gang in the team was spending more time at "pious" pursuits rather than the game itself?

It might be convenient to ruin Shoaib's career for the moment, and make him a scape-goat for everything that is wrong with Pakistani cricket, but lets face it: its UNFAIR.

And from my point of view, its LAME too.

Go, Rawalpindi Express! :D

Don't know much about what the Pakistan Cricked Board sentenced Shoaib Akhtar to, but i do know it is a treat to watch this man bowl. Just recently in the Premier League being played in India Shoaib created havoc in one game when he took some 5 wickets in some two overs! Why do we let politics and religion impinge on sport, the one activity known to be a universal equalizer, and which allows for the best man/team to win?
