Hz. Khwaja Garib Nawaz.. kaa kyaa shaan-daar sher Raza ne quote kiya hai.. Subhan Allah.

Today i am in a light mood., and would like to present an ode to Raza Rumi. It is a comic Hyderabadi folk song : Dedicated to Raza… (Take it in a light spirit OK) !

Too ney to mujhe Zaalim
Dee-waana Banaa Daa`la - Repeat

Ghar mein thee tang`chaa`i…
Oopar se thee…. Mehen`gaai
Ghar mein jo… Peench.. thee sow
Sheer-khorma… Banaa Daala

(Peench : is the starch drained from boiled rice)

Sher-wani Kaa Thaa Kapdaa
Py`jaama Banaa Daala…
Too ney to mujhe Zaalim
Dee-waana Bana Dala..

- Rahe Naam Allah Kaa. Alakh Niranjan !!

Really very informative and interesting. Was not aware of homage paid to Data Ganj buksh by Khwaja Moeenuddin Chishti in the following words:

Ganj Bakhsh-e faiz-e aalam, mazhar-e Noorr-i Khuda
Naqisaan ra peer-e kaamil, kaamilan ra rahnuma

This side, chhabeels are put up on the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Guru. Gurdwara Dera Saaheb at Lahore is dedicated to him.

Langar is served on other Gurpurabs as well.

Qawwaali and poetry-recitation definitely do sound like something to look forward to, along with everything else described in this post. In fact, there are a lot of parallels that can be drawn between the celebration of Urs and Gurpurab celebrations, it seems to me. :)
