Shoaib Akhtar in Delhi
17 November 2007
This photo was published by the Daily Times with the caption New cap for Pakistan? with the following text:
Shoaib Akhtar light-heartedly wears the cap of a Delhi police constable, left, during a practice match against Delhi XI on Friday. The Pakistani cricket team arrived in India on Thursday amid tight security for a six-week tour to play five One-day Internationals and three Tests.
Our controversial star is quite a character!

Shoaib seems happier in India. Be it here in this picture joking around with kaka sipahis or at a school in gwalior. Or is it that India likes him too. It seems as if lately there are a lot of knives out for him in Pakistan. Much of that might be his own fault but its hard not to think what could have been. Regardless, he comes off as a better ambassador that that Afridi guy throwing elbows around on the pitch.
being the biggest under-achiever in pakistan’s cricketing history, at least shoaib kambakhtar is proving useful… as a goodwill ambassador.
Ali Raza and Kinkminos
I agree with you – he has proved to be a goodwill ambassador after all the ‘knives’ out for him back home.
I know Afridi was just a little too aggressive..
thanks for visiting
Cheers
Raza

Asma:

Yes Raza! He’s quite a character! And he knows how to stay in the news. He’s volatile. He’s short tempered. Bowls short fiery spells. He remains in and out of the team both for short periods of time. Let’s pray his current form doesn’t fall short as he is bowling quite magnificently in the ongoing season.
Asma – LOL
Aadil: thanks for visiting – you are right – he is in great form and let’s hope he doesnt do anything to squander this..
