The garden of Love is green without limit

and yields many fruits

other than sorrow and joy.

Love is beyond either condition:

without spring, without autumn,it is always fresh.

Jelaluddin Rumi ( Iranian Poet )

Farhan Mian

Shams was a guide and a Sufi master that transformed the inner world and life of Rumi by introducing him to Love for the Divine reality.. They had an intense relationship in which Rumi fell in love with Shams - Rumi's family became jealous and ultimately Shams left Konya. He was brought back as Rumi went almost mad with grief. But this was a short lived union as it is believed that one of Rumi's son murdered Shams.

Rumi was heartbroken, he gradually recovered but Shams had chnaged his life.

I suggest you read a highly readable novel: "the way of love" by Nigel Watts which explains a lot about this relationsip.

Lovely Rumi :) This one has been all over the blogs because of Ramadan, but I love coming across it and reading it over and over. That's the power of Rumi and Ramadan.
