A "500-year old fire, with those muscular, feminised men, to know the temple as the kitchen of the universe (and so to also know the kitchen as the temple of the self) from where...every creature in the universe receives nourishment"! Waht an amazing place that must be and, indeed, what a powerful experience that must have been for Vidya Rao, who undoubtedly is well read on the Indian scriptures, must possess a very keen sensibility, and looks at the world with the indulgence of a sensitive artist. The melting down of genders in a 'rasoi' to provide nourishment is perhaps the most basic and thus the most powerful act of devotion; devoid of any man-made discriminatory practices like ,religion, language, nationality ...
Raza, thank you! I owe you one for providing me with this rich cultural experience, even if it were a vicarious one.

Very nice. Great pictures too (who took?).
Incidentally, the Krishna worshipped by the Patels of Charotar is Runchhod, He Who Fled From Battle.
